This is just a temporary page to display on our web space. A more professional one will follow shortly.
Credit Unions are organisations set up and run mainly by volunteers to provide affordable finance to people who may not be able to obtain it elsewhere.
They actively encourage members to volunteer and help build credit unions. In return the volunteers receive free training that results in recognised qualifications that can be used in employment.
Members of a credit union start by saving regularly for three months. This qualifies them to apply for loans of up to three times the value of their shares. Repayments start immediately and consist of equal repayments over a twelve month period. Interest is charged at one percent per month simple interest and is included with the repayments. Members are expected to continue saving whilst repaying their loans. |
